How to Raise Godly Children with God-given Destinies

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

***

God said this about Jeremiah. However, this is God’s Word, and God’s Word is Himself, so we know this to be true for us born to be in Christ and God’s purpose.

The world is made up of communities and corporations through people who were brought forth by other people. When a child is born, they are born into their parents’ lives. The child is as good as having no life of their own, for where their parents direct, they go, and whatever happens in their parents’ lives happens to them.

I say this to say, that when a child is born, whatever purpose and reality they’ll have found operating in the lives of those they are born to will seem to become their purpose as well.

The First Mistake

The first mistake parents make is thinking of their child as their own and only theirs by not acknowledging God in the ownership agreement. When a parent is not conscious of God being the true Parent and true Maker of a child, the parent will likely dictate the child and think it’s up to them to give the child a destiny.

A parent directing their child is part of God’s plan, however, without the awareness of God as the true Parent, the human parent will think it’s their right to direct the child even when the child is now able to discern direction themselves from the Maker and true Parent.

Without consciousness of God as the Father and Parent, the human parent thinks the child disobeys them or is led astray when the child begins to be led by God on their own. Does any human parent suppose that they are more equipped to lead their child than the Mighty Father God is? I would hope not.

Why This is Important

The only way this world can start to be made a better place is to raise children as if they are God’s children because they are. And this involves telling the child who God says he or she is through God’s Word, the Bible.

If the child belonged to God, to begin with, the child is not expected to satisfy our dreams and desires for them, but rather, the child’s life is destined to be fulfilled as they walk in their true purpose, undisturbed and unhindered by a parent’s worldly conditioning.

The child will tell us who they are from the beginning (not from our [worldly] conditioning, which must be eradicated anyway) and we will not deny them because our roles would be to behold them, not to dictate them. Never will a child walk a journey that was never theirs, or a journey that was conjured up by trauma and worldly desires.

A child then lives for a higher purpose, a divine purpose, and the child is fully inclined to be a vessel of the glory of God, exceeding any universal expectation of success. God-raised children will be God-led young adults, which will make happy adults with healthy relationships, and with less anxiety, depression, and the like, making a better world.

“And she vowed a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your servant and remember me and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall touch his head.””
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭1‬:‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The Perspective

If the seed of a tree brings forth a new tree, does that new tree belong to the seed tree? No. The seed of that first tree’s God-given desire was to bring forth its kind, not to own its kind that it brought forth. See, this is the code of life, to bring forth more life because it is the command of God to multiply. No one can own another’s life.

The unique experience of humankind through conscious awareness should not take away the fact of this reality of God being the only Maker, and Him being the only Father. And if He were a woman (and He certainly is not!), He would be the only Mother; What is feminine/Mother pertaining to God is His City, the New Jerusalem adorned like a bride.

God is the only Parent, and His Home is the original essence of abundant nurture, care, and love. One is only a steward of a child, and granted the title parent because they represent the Parent in them being in stewardship.

Do you love the child more than life itself? That love is stewarded to you too, for how much more does a perfect God and Father love that child? We deceive ourselves if we think our love for our children can even begin to compare to God’s love for the children when it is God who made the air for the child, and the sun and moon and all else for that child and all children.

All that lives and moves belong to God. If we were treated as God’s ownership, how much better would we lives have been? If no one thought they had the right to smack us, shout at us, abuse us, or love us only in the imperfect way they were loved, or raise us in the imperfect way they were raised. If God as a Parent was the constant awareness, even our parents’ parents wouldn’t have been bruised or abused (in any way, shape, or form) because no one bruised and abused them.

The Consensus

Am I saying humans would’ve been perfect (fully matured & advanced) if they were raised by God? Of course, that’s exactly what I’m saying. And am I saying the problem with the world is that people are not being raised right because they are not being raised by God? That is one hundred percent what I’m saying. Can we truly own what we had no control over? We clearly are not the ones in control, are we?

Accept this peace and freedom. We should surrender what we thought was our load and even begin to joyfully be God’s child ourselves by knowing and living in the knowledge of who He says we are in His Word, the Bible. Only those led by the Spirit of God are the children of God, and only those who know God and His Word can know and have His Holy Spirit.

May your mind be renewed, your faith be strengthened, and your peace be anchored in Christ, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
