How to Live the Happiest Life Today and Onwards

Living a happier life is in store for us if we so choose it. Joy can be accessed within us, we only need to realise and engage with the Source of it, God Almighty. There is no goodness outside of the good God. Happiness emerges from the outward conditions. It is inspired by what we get, have, acquire, achieve, etc.

How to Be Happy in Life Always

Happiness comes when the outward conditions are in our desired state. This means happiness is conditional and ever-fleeting as it’s depicted by what may or may not happen outside of us. Who may or may not offend us and so on.

A truly happier life is a life with joy. Happiness is an ever-fleeting emotion, while joy is a spirit that comes from the spiritual realm for our spiritual being from the Spiritual God. Living life with joy is the answer to how to live a happier life.

Joy can only come from within our being; joy emerges from the inward conditions. We access joy within us, and joy comes with its friend peace because they are in the same (spiritual) environment. We don’t depend our joy and peace on what the day may or may not bring.

What Brings Joy?

We only need to choose the God and Source of joy and peace and build the muscle of choosing joy and peace over anything else and therefore live a happier life. Our happiness would not be dependent on the fleeting conditions of reality. Our happiness would come from the independent (from the world) Source of joy and peace we’ll have become one with within us.

We should realise the importance of quieting our inner chatter so that joy and peace can flourish and not be sabotaged by our fleeting thoughts and emotions. Achieving inner silence can be done through mindfulness practice.

If we are mindful of our breath and our body (our other senses), when our mind is with our body in the present moment, we are not in the past or future and we achieve silence through mere internal observation and awareness (our spirit), and the joy and peace that is established within us can be loud. Louder than the internal chatter.

Your happiness would come from the independent Source of joy and peace you’ll have become one with within you.

This joy and peace are independent because they don’t need conditions to be favorable to experience and live in them. They are our anchors, where we reside, whether things are favourable or things are not favourable externally. For, what life is it when we depend on the world to make us happy and joyful and peaceful?

This world that is filled with evil and hate? It is simply impossible for the world to accomplish this. The world does not have access to joy and peace. The world is a physical world, and we are spiritual beings. The world could never be able to reach our inner (actual) spirit being.

The Importance and Power of Self-Control

Is it not our choice to choose how to live our life? To choose our way of walking in this world? God has awarded all free will. Does our life and self not belong to us? In every moment, in undesired outcomes, and even in suffering, we have the choice to choose what these things will mean and be to us.

Will they break us, or will they make us an even better person through the right understanding? The reality is ours to choose, always. This doesn’t mean pain doesn’t hurt, but it can mean that pain isn’t the end of us. This power of self-control, however, is only of the Holy Spirit. Have Him and have it.

As a lover of wisdom and knowledge, I have read the teachings of Buddhism about suffering, and they taught me this: even in desired outcomes and happiness, there is a knowing of how an undesirable outcome can happen any second and crumble your happiness.

We may very well be anxiously happy, whether we are conscious or unconscious of this sense of impending doom. That is why I have realized that choosing joy and peace as inspired from within relieves us from the sense of impending doom as well. We can no longer fear what may or may not happen. We become secure in the reality of change because we’ve anchored ourselves within true ourselves (our spirits), instead of something else like a physical possession or even a negative thought.

How to Create Happiness Within

The last matter I want to address pertaining to living a happier life is experiencing boredom. Boredom may make us think we’re not happy, but I think boredom is a good sign of being in comfort. If we’re bored, we’re not preoccupied by anything. Our life is a still ocean; nothing is happening, and this can be a joy and peace. It is a privilege to be bored because we are not suffering anything. We are not fighting anything but the still moment in your life.

Say you feel your marriage is boring, or your job, or being a housewife, do not destroy your life. For example, at your job, you may just need a challenge because being unfulfilled with your job is a different deeper story from being bored. And as a housewife or wife, don’t depend on your house duties or your husband or family to make you happy.

Make yourself happy; choose joy. Find a hobby, find your individuality. It is your responsibility to be whole and fulfilled, and only Christ can give this to you. Choose wisely the conditions of your life, always. It is all in your hands. It is all in choosing the Almighty Source of all goodness.

May your mind be renewed, your faith be strengthened, and your peace be anchored in Christ, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
